Mesa band Jimmy Eat World to host Valley radio show

By Randy Cordova, The Arizona Republic

Jimmy Eat World has enjoyed success around the globe, but the Mesa band has never lost its ties to the Valley. The group's latest gig reinforces the Arizona connection: The group will host a live radio show on KEDJ-FM (103.9) starting tonight (Jan. 22).

"They will take over the airwaves for one hour each night," program director Marc Young says. "They will mess around, take callers and basically talk about anything they want."

Young also says the band will offer music by some of their favorite artists, both current and those that influenced them.

"It will be like listening to what's on their iPod," Young says.

The show, called The Robot Factory, will air at 9 p.m. every Saturday through Feb. 12.
